Assad Kotaite
1924-2014


It is with deep sorrow that the family of Assad Kotaite (1924-2014), son of Adib Kotaite and Kamlé Abou-Samra, announces his passing away in Montreal on Thursday 27 February 2014 at 23:55 hours after a long and difficult battle with cancer.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Monique Ayoub (daughter of Ernest Ayoub and Renée Sisto), his brother Faissal Kotaite (Dolly Chédid), his sisters Nabiha (the late Dr. Rachid Haddad), Wadad (the late Toufic Shaheen), and Leila (Fares Amyouni), his nephews and nieces (Ghazi and Ghassan, Hind, Salwa and Bassem, Denise, Clairise and Richard, Haya and Nada, and all their children), his sisters-in-law Laila Ayoub (René Doucet) and Nicole Ayoub (the late Gérard Beaubat) and her son Alexandre Beaubat (Mélanie d'Espois), Monique’s cousin Dr. Jean Chalaoui (Angela Dupont), as well as by many other relatives and friends in Canada, Lebanon and elsewhere.

A Wake Service will take place at The St. George Orthodox Church (555-575 Jean-Talon East Mtl Qc H2R 1T8) on Monday March 3rd, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday March 4th, 2014 as of 10 a.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the “Fondation PalliAmi” (C.P. 531 Succursale C Mtl Qc H2L 4K4, www.palliami.org.) and to the “St. George Orthodox Church” would be greatly appreciated.

The Family wishes to thank the Oncology Dpt of Notre-Dame Hospital (in particular the Hemato-Oncologist Dr. Mustafa Tehfe), the CLSC Côte-des-Neiges, and the Fondation PalliAmi (the palliative care unit of Notre-Dame Hospital) for their dedication and wonderful care.
