George E. Hedrei

It is with broken hearts that we share the news of the sudden passing of George Hedrei on January 20, 2026.

George was so much more than a brother, a friend, an uncle, a colleague — he was a gentle soul with a brilliant mind, a generous heart, and a unique spark that touched everyone who knew him. His lifelong passion for electronics and the Montreal Amateur Radio Club wasn’t just a hobby; it was a part of who he was and they were like a second family whom he treasured. From a very young age, he loved to learn, to build, to experiment and to connect with others through his passions. He was also a lover of nature and music, which was never too loud for George.

George’s sharp intelligence and quiet kindness were deeply appreciated by his colleagues at CSA Group, who valued not only his talent, but the sincerity and warmth.

A memorial gathering to honour George’s life will be held at on January 29, 2026 at Urgel Bourgie Complex, at 3955 Côte-de-Liesse, Ville St-Laurent H4N 2N6 from 7pm to 9pm.  A short service will take place at 7:45pm where we will come together to remember his spirit.

In the spring, George’s ashes will be laid to rest at Côte des Neiges Cemetery, with his cherished parents, reunited in eternal peace.

Special thanks to Sacré Cœur Hospital and the doctors who cared for George with compassion, honouring his wishes with respect.

May George find eternal peace in the embrace of his loving parents. His memory will live forever in our hearts.
