It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Velma Sancho, who left us peacefully on August 11, 2025, at the age of 88. A devoted Christian, Velma lived her life guided by faith, compassion, and grace. She now joins her beloved husband, Joseph Lawrence, in eternal rest.

Velma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She leaves behind in mourning: her children Shelley (predeceased), Lance, and Jolyn (predeceased spouse Paul); her grandchildren Jerome, Davon, Tyanne (Jacob), and Tiffany; her great-granddaughters Ellie and Raeanne; her brother Leebert (Eslyn); her sisters Carmen and Venice; as well as many other relatives and friends whose lives she touched with warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion.

Was also beloved foster mother of Marleen, Dwayne and the late Marvin Williams and also helped shaped the lives of many other young individuals.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found joy in prayer, fellowship, and service to others. Velma’s legacy of kindness and spiritual strength will continue to inspire all who knew her.

The family will receive condolences at the Jardin Urgel Bourgie in Saint-Hubert, located at 8145 Chemin de Chambly, on Wednesday, August 27, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and again on Thursday, August 28, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 AM in the chapel, with burial to take place thereafter.
