Charles Phillips
Charles Phillips, aged 83, passed away on July 25, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on November 2, 1941, in Montreal, Quebec, son of the late Marguerite Ethel Parris and Charles Horace Phillips.
Charles is survived by his wife, Suzanne Bossé Phillips; three children: Lara Arielle Phillips (husband, Peter Garnavich), Carlos Phillips (wife, Millie Malde), and Naïma Phillips; two grandchildren: Dev Sunil Phillips and Ari Liam Régis. He also leaves other family members and many friends who will miss him dearly.
Charles demonstrated a boundless thirst for knowledge and a passion for lifelong learning. He loved to read books, compose and play music, engage in lively discussions, and research topics of interest from sports to philosophy. His career as a translator allowed him to convey his love of the written word through the literary works he translated. His travels took him on adventures in Morocco, Cameroon, France, Spain, and the United States. Forever young at heart, he was always up for a game of checkers or a good laugh.
A private celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 13, for close family and friends.
