Doreen Hibbs Obituary
Hibbs, Doreen
In Loving Memory
Doreen Hibbs passed away in her 98th year on July 16, 2025, at Extendicare, Port Hope Long Term Care. Originally from Montreal, Doreen moved to Whitby in 2015.
Born on October 7, 1927, to the late Lionel and Edith Hibbs, Doreen was predeceased by her beloved sisters Christine Kinmond (Roy), Joan Cole (Jim), and Lily Vardon (Robert).
Affectionately known as "Aunty Do," she will be deeply missed by all her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the caring teams at Crown Ridge Retirement Home and Extendicare Port Hope Long Term Care for their dedication and compassion in supporting Doreen over the years, especially since April of this year.
Doreen enjoyed a fulfilling career with CN Rail, where she took great pride in her work. Her life was marked by service and generosity-she devoted much of her time to her church, organizing dinners, penny fairs, and serving on the altar, as well as managing treasury duties. She also volunteered for the Montreal Children's Hospital and had a passion for travel.
Above all, Doreen cherished her family. She will be remembered as one of the last of the "Four Hibbs Sisters" and will be profoundly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Rest in Peace, Aunty Do
