With love and sadness, we announce the passing of Beatrice Gertrude Hughes (née Griffin), who died peacefully at the age of 96.

Born on November 1, 1928, Beatrice was the beloved wife of the late George Hughes and the youngest of five spirited sisters. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.

She lived a long, full life devoted to her family and leaves behind a legacy of resilience, honesty, and love.

Beatrice is survived by her children: Cheryl (Norman) Finlay and Michael Hughes; her grandchildren: Shauna (Roger) Cox, Amanda Hughes (Kerri Riddell), Mitchell Hughes, and Sara Hughes (Alexander Todd) ; and her great-grandson, Lukas Cox. She will also be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband, George Hughes.
