Anne-Marie Girard

1930-2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mrs. Anne-Marie Girard (Rebelo) on June 22, 2025, in Laval, at the age of 94, following a long battle of five and a half years with the consequences of a severe stroke. She was the beloved wife of Adrien Rebelo, originally from the Azores.

Born in St-Aime des lacs, Charlevoix, on November 15, 1930, she was the daughter of Charles Girard and Anne-Marie Lajoie.

She now rests beside her brothers and sisters, Fernande, Annette, Rodolphe, Jean-Paul and Simone, as well as her late brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Girard and Rebelo families.

She is survived by her children, Lucie (ex son-in-law Serge Humbert), Denis, François (Lorraine Mallette) and Michel ( Martine Dubreuil) , her grandchildren, William, Carolane and Jonathan, her godson Gilles, her sister-in-law Ernestina, her nieces and nephews, as well as many relatives and friends from Quebec and the Azores.

Anne-Marie's legacy of love, kindness, perseverance, faith, human charity and devotion to her family will continue to inspire all those who had the good fortune to know her.  Her soothing smile and warm welcome will be forever etched in our memories.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, July 01, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Urgel Bourgie / Athos Funeral Complex, 6700 Beaubien Street East, Montreal. A liturgical ceremony will follow at 11 a.m. in the Complex chapel.

Interment is scheduled for Wednesday, July 2 at 11 a.m.

Finally, the family would also like to warmly thank the staff of CHSLD Ste-Rose for their support, empathy and good care. Our mother was accompanied with compassion and respect in her final moments by the exceptional team on the 2nd floor of CHSLD Ste-Rose. Thank you for your kind words.

Your expressions of sympathy can also take the form of a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Montreal.

May her memory be eternal.
