Vito Antonio Cerone

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Vito Antonio Cerone on June 22, 2025, at the age of 93.

 

Beloved husband of Rosa D’Elia, Vito will be deeply missed by his devoted children Teresa (Tony), Anna (Giovanni), Donato (Lynn) his cherished grandchildren Michael, Jessica (Reza), Olivia (Nicolas), Melina, Armando, Sarah, Emily, and great grandchildren Ella and Romeo. He also leaves to mourn many relatives and friends.

 

In 1957, Vito left his beloved hometown of Castelgrande, in the province of Potenza, Basilicata, Italy, alongside his cherished wife Rosa. They emigrated to Montreal, where they built a rich and fulfilling life together. A dedicated worker at Gaz Métropolitain, Vito was also a man of tradition—crafting his own ricotta, wine, and prosciutto with pride and care.

 

November would have marked Vito and Rosa’s 70th wedding anniversary—a testament to their enduring love and partnership.

 

Vito will be remembered for his boundless patience, his ever-present smile, and his generous spirit. He always found time to lend a hand, offering warmth and kindness to all who knew him.

 

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and from 7:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., at the Urgel Bourgie Funeral Complex, located at 6700 Beaubien Street E Montréal QC H1M 3E3.

 

The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at Mont-Carmel Church, located at 7645 Rue du Mans, Saint-Léonard, QC H1S 2A1. The entombment will follow at Repos Saint-François d’Assise cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Montreal or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
