Réal passed away suddenly after suffering a massive cerebral hemorrhage on June 4, 2025.

Son of the late Janine Portelance and Roger Bastien, he is survived by his brother Jean-Hughes Bastien and the late Paul Bastien.

A wonderful companion to Serge Senécal for more than 62 years, Réal was the discreet force behind the Serge et Réal couture house

for 52 years, sharing a superb life with Serge, creating clothing collections for a prestigious clientele and

enjoying trips to Paris for work and summer vacations in Italy.

He will be missed by his friends and companion, who admired him and his talent.

A reception in tribute to Réal will be held in the autumn.
