It is with a heavy broken heart that we are announcing the passing of our beloved mother Vittoria Galardo Matiz on May 20, 2025 in Montreal, wife of the late Francesco Matiz. She was a woman with great courage, strength and always ready to give a helping hand to all those that needed.

Leaving behind her beloved son Giovanni (Laura), beloved daughter Filomena and granddaughters Victoria and Julia, Mrs Matiz also leaves to mourn her sister-in-law Paolina (the late Paulo Galardo), brother-in-law Antonio Matiz (Maria Teresa Matiz) Italy, her nephews and nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences on June 3, 2025 from 4 to 9 p.m. and June 4 from 10 to 12 at the Urgel Bourgie/Athos Funeral Complex, 6700 Beaubien St., Montreal. A mass will be celebrated on June 4 at 12:30 p.m. at Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Church, 7645 du Mans, Montreal, followed by interment at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery.
