Ekaterini Constantakou Pavlakos
Ekaterini Constantakou Pavlakos
1930-2025
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ekaterini Constantakou Pavlakos on April 5th, 2025, at the age of 94.
Her life began in Laconia, Greece, where she grew up on a farm with her brothers and sisters. She had so many stories to share with us from that time, many of them quite charming. We remember how she would laugh recounting her many misadventures during her youth. Like many of her generation, she would leave Greece to begin a new life for herself in Canada. As a young woman she worked hard to make it in the world while adapting to new languages and a new culture. She had a lot of determination and courage. She would eventually invite her beloved Kostas to join her in Montreal. Together they would build a life and welcome three children. She managed her way through many difficulties, especially later in life and we came to understand how strong a person she was. She showed a wisdom and intelligence that belied her lack of a formal education. She was wholly devoted to her family, raising her children and in later years welcoming with joy many grandchildren. Her love of family was a driving force that kept her going, and the love she received in return kept her spirits high, right to the end.
She now joins her husband, Konstantinos Pavlakos, in heaven.
Ekaterini leaves behind her children: Alexandra (Gus), Peter (Jenny) and Sarantos (Carolina). Her grandchildren: George, Potoula, Dean, Tom, Manny, Chris and Leo. Her great-grandchild Theo. Her siblings John and Artemis.
