Jean Gravel

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Gravel on March 11, 2025, at the age of 80.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his son Jean-François and his partner Sandra, his sister Louise, his sister Johanne, her partner Denis, and their children and grandchildren, his brother Pierre, his partner Patricia, and their children, his dear friends Marie-Andrée, Mike, Micheline, Carlos, Erick, Pat, Tim, as well as in the hearts of the extended Solitude Myriam family and all those he encountered throughout his life.

After suffering a debilitating stroke at the age of 24, Jean was an example of resilience and perseverance, living every day to its fullest. He had a keen interest in a wide range of subjects, from science to art, but it was his faith and dedication to others that were the focus of his life. He loved to laugh, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy a good meal with a glass (or two!) of red wine.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at CHSLD Éloria-Lepage, Jean’s home for the past two years, where he was cared for with love, respect and dignity.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, March 21, at Urgel Bourgie Athos Funeral Home, 1255 Beaumont Ave, Town of Mont-Royal (metro Acadie), from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22, at 10:00am at Église Sainte-Louise-de-Marillac, 7901, rue Sainte-Claire (entrance on Honoré-Beaugrand), Montréal.

Our most sincere thanks to everyone who has reached out with kind words and expressions of sympathy.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (https://www.heartandstroke.ca) or the Alzheimer Society of Canada (https://alzheimer.ca) would be greatly appreciated.
