Lorraine Hajaly (nee Barakett)

Lorraine Hajaly (nee Barakett)

1927 - 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother, Lorraine Hajaly (Barakett). Surrounded by her family, she passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, just shy of her 98 years. She is predeceased by her husband Michael Hajaly.

Lorraine joined her husband in St-Jerome where she started her family of 6 children, Suzanne, the late Michael Jr., Steven (Susan), Paul (Betty), Peter (Catherine) and Wendy (Rico). Together they enjoyed a very active community life for many years. She will greatly be missed by her 8 grandchildren, a great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine is survived by her sister Connie Aziz (the late Omar).

Lorraine lived a long and remarkable life, full of love, grace and joy. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Lorraine was known for her unwavering kindness and dedicated most of her life to her family.

Lorraine was the heart of our family and devoted her life to raising her 6 children. Her greatest pride and joy was time spent with her grandchildren and she became part of their daily lives.

Throughout her life, Lorraine believed in the importance of family values and instilled these in her loved ones. She will be remembered not only for her life lessons but also for the love and joy she gave so freely. The family wishes to thank Lorraine's caregivers Cecilia Solomon and Marie Khoury for the exceptional care, compassion and love given for many years.

May flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest.
