The mission of Urgel Bourgie / Athos funeral homes is to offer the highest quality of commemorative services in the funeral and cemetery industry by accompanying mourning families during each step of their grieving process.
Our values

In 1902, Henri Bourgie established the funeral firm Bourgie H. & Co and opened the family’s first funeral home.
During the middle of the 20th century, along with his brothers and other family members, Henri Bourgie changed the name of the company to Urgel Bourgie. To meet the growing needs of its clientele, the firm began to expand its offering to include embalming and funeral services as well as casket and hearse manufacturing. At the same time, multiple funeral homes across the city of Montréal.
Urgel Bourgie has continued to successfully grow by acquiring other well-established funeral homes, such as the Parc Commémoratif de Montréal, Jardins Laurentides (St-Hubert), Parc du Souvenir (Laval), and Maisons Funéraires Feron (Montréal). The company also acquired J. Bouchard et Fils, Lepine Cloutier, the Parc Commémoratif La Souvenance, Jardins Québec, and Falardeau, Bédard, Roy in the Québec City area.
As of 2012, Urgel Bourgie / Athos is a member of the Athos Services Commemoratifs and has maintained its market and community leadership as a forward-looking and innovative network of funeral homes in Montréal.
