It is with a very heavy heart and deep sorrow that the family of Melina Ioanna Marina Tsagaropoulos (37 years old), announces her passing on June 19, 2026. Melina fought a courageous 9 year battle with ovarian cancer.
Born in Montreal QC, to Mary Lambropoulos and George Tsagaropoulos, Melina lived a full and remarkable life.
After graduating from Vanier College, Melina pursued a career in early childhood care, a field in which she worked and loved until her illness.
She married Marco Makrymanolakis in 2015 and they spent 11 wonderful years together.
Melina is survived by her loving husband Marco, their son Matheo, her parents Mary and George, her brother Niko (Tamara and children Matheo and Iliana), her grandmother Despina. Also survived by her in-laws Eftichios and Eftichia Makrymanolakis and sisters-in-law and brother-in-laws, along with their children and grandchildren.
Visitations will take place on June 23rd, from 5:00PM to 9:00PM at the Urgel Bourgie Funeral Complex located at 1255 rue Beaumont, Mont-Royal.
The funeral will be held on June 24th at Koimisis Tis Theotokou Church, located at 7700 de l’Épée, Montreal, H3N 2E6.
All who knew and loved Melina are welcome to attend.
Melina will be remembered for her smile and compassion, for her love of life and her determination.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Royal Victoria Hospital for their care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Melina's memory to the Dovee Gene Project.
