Rosa Nardi De Cicco

In Loving Memory of

Rosa Nardi De Cicco (1936-2026)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosa, our beloved mom, cherished Nonna, and devoted wife of the late Luigi, at the age of 89. After whispering "I love you too" to her 3 children and 2 oldest grandchildren for the last time, she peacefully passed away in the early hours of January 2nd, after 6 years of varying health challenges.

Rosa was born and raised in Mendicino, in the province of Cosenza, Italia. In the Spring of 1959, she left her native family and friends and boarded a plane to Montreal, where she would marry her sweetheart Luigi on June 24, 1959. Together they built a home, raised a family, and became proud Canadian citizens. Her dedication and love for her birth family, Italian culture, music, and heritage were shared with her children and grandchildren.

For over 20 years, Rosa worked as a sewing machine operator before retiring and providing home daycare for Christopher and Kevin. After officially retiring, she was active for many years on the social committee of the Club d’Âge d’Or Italien d’Anjou.

Rosa was the glue that held many families together. A wonderful cook who took great pride in preparing her homemade desserts, pizzas, pastas, cured meats, preserves, and so much more. Together with her sweetheart, she delighted in making her unbeatable gnocchi and Sunday sauce. She had a passion for embroidering, knitting, sewing, and was known for her green thumb when tending to her outdoor vegetable garden and her indoor plants.

Her zest for life and her genuine concern for others' well-being touched the lives of all who knew her. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, accentuated by the delicious aromas, laughter, and music that always filled her home. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, forgiveness, love, and satisfied tummies in both Montreal and Calabria.

Rosa was predeceased by her loving husband Luigi, of 60 years, and her precious younger sister, Carmelinda. She will be forever missed by: her loving children Maria (Tony), Trisha (Fino), and Mimmo (Nataly); her adoring grandchildren: Christopher (Leanne), Kevin, Kymberly, Beverly, Brandon, Kayla-Rose, and Alessandro; her magnificent siblings Maria and Raffaele in Italia; her cherished nephews and nieces both in Montreal and in Calabria; and by her wonderful cousins, relatives, friends, and neighbours both here and abroad.

May she rest in eternal peace.

Family and friends are invited to say goodbye on Sunday January 11th 2026 from 14h-17h and 19h-21h at Urgel Bourgie, 6700 Beaubien Street., Montreal, QC, H1M 1B2.

A Mass will be held in her honour on Monday January 12th at 11h at Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel's Church (Parrocchia Della Madonna Del Monte Carmelo) 7645, rue Du Mans, St-Léonard, QC H1S 2A1.
