Gino Ianiro

1933-2025

Gino Ianiro, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 in Montreal, Quebec. He was born May 6, 1933 in San Pietro in Valle, Molise, Italy.  He immigrated to Montreal in 1960 and that same year married Cristina Farrace to whom he was married for 54 years before her passing in 2014.  Together they raised two daughters.  He is predeceased by his daughter Felicia (Nicola) and survived by his daughter Anna (Joe).

Gino is also survived by 5 grandchildren, of whom he was exceptionally proud: Donato, Tonia (Andrew), Christine (Ryan), Joshua (Aalia) and Max (Maddie).  He was blessed with 3 great granddaughters: Sofia, Aeris and Alessia.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 5pm – 9pm at Urgel Bourgie, Sainte-François D’Assise Funeral Complex at 6700 rue Beaubien Est, Montreal.  Friends may also visit on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 12:30 pm – 2 pm.   A mass will be heard in the Chapel of the Funeral Complex at 2:00 pm,   immediately followed by the interment in the Padre Piu Mausoleum in the Repos St-François d’Assise Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
