It is with sincere sadness that we announce the passing of Erika Gisel, PhD., OTR, Professor Emerita, McGill University on Thursday, August 7, 2025.

Born in Winterthur, Switzerland on May 24, 1942, only child to Friedrich Gisel and Erica Violette Phetzer. She remained a devoted step-daughter to her father’s second spouse. Erika is survived by her cousin, Marcel Gisel and his family, residing in Switzerland.

She was a loyal friend (Switzerland, U.S. and Canada), colleague, mentor and hiking buddy.

Funeral service will take place on Friday, August 15, 2025; 2:00-4:00 pm
