Riccardo Fabiano
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Riccardo Fabiano, a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and a friend to many, who passed away at the age of 91.
Riccardo was the devoted father to his two loving daughters, Marisa(Tony) and Sandra (Steve) and proud grandfather to four cherished grandchildren: Andrew, Michael, Julia and Macy.
Born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt, Riccardo was the son of Aurelio Fabiano and Antonia Vajianos. Fluent in five languages, he had a remarkable ability to connect with people, forming lasting friendships throughout his life. He married the love of his life, Jeanette in 1959 and together they embarked on a journey that spanned over 50 years. As a young couple, they moved to Tripoli, Libya for work, spending eight years during which they welcomed two daughters and forged lasting friendships. They frequently vacationed in Greece to be with close family, creating cherished memories which he often recalled with deep affection as some of the best times of his life.
In 1967, they made a well-timed move to Montreal to settle permanently, embracing new opportunities and building a fulfilling life for their family. Surrounded by extended family and reunited with dear friends, they continued to grow their circle of friendships over the years.
Though he endured the heart-wrenching loss of his beloved wife, Jeanette, in 2009, he remained devoted to honouring her memory. Now, we take comfort he will find eternal peace by her side.
As we celebrate Riccardo’s remarkable zest for life, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to shine through all who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth and kindness touched everyone he met and his quick wit and playful spirit would always bring a smile to your face.
Riccardo adored the sun, yet he was the true light in our lives. His infectious laughter, endless stories, passion for music, love of food (especially candy), and deep devotion to family and friends—both near and far—will forever echo in our hearts, and we will miss him dearly.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to his caregiver, Katherine, for treating him as one of her own and providing unwavering care, comfort, and companionship during his later years and on his final day.
Visitation is on Sunday the 16th of March, 2025 from 2pm to 6pm. The memorial service will be on Monday the 17th of March at 10:00 am.
Both the visitation and memorial service will be held at 3955 Ch. Cote-de-Liesse , Saint-Laurent, H4N 2N6.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Sacre Coeur hospital in Riccardo’s name to continue the legacy of love he embodied.
