Nabiha Wahhab (nee Simaan)
Passed away peacefully in Montreal on October 10, 2009. Born on April 12, 1917 in Beit Jala, Palestine. Lived in Ramleh after her marriage to the late Ibrahim Wahhab, and was amongst the more than 7000,000 Palestinians (half the indigenous population) who where driven out of their towns during the 1948 Nakba and were prevented from returning home. With courage and tenacity, she rebuilt her life with her husband, five young children and a new-born son that she gave birth to in the church shelter in Ramleh during the Nakba. She lived in Ramallah until she immigrated to Montreal in 1977 after enduring 10 years of occupation.
She is predeceased by her son Khader (Linda) and will be dearly missed and mourned by her children Fawzi (late Jamileh), Fuad (Mary), Yusuf (Amal), Mansour (Anna), Monir (Danielle), Emily (Mina), Siham (Joseph), her sister Miladeh (of Beit Jala), twenty-six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends in Canada, Palestine, Jordan, Peru, Chile, USA and Australia.
